I am creating a horoscope for a person born in Houston, TX, USA. The birth city field does NOT accept Houston as a valid place with the error message “Place not found”. This is undesirable. Houston, TX is a major city in the U.S. and it would make sense to add it to the database that stores the birth places.

“1641” “User_2980″ id=”44832” number=”1 @”User_2980″#p44832 did you select country?

Thanks for your prompt response! I very much appreciate it.
Yes, I did select the country as United States. The error happens when creating a KP horoscope. below is the URL that manifests the error.

Note that the location dropdown does show Houston, TX, USA as one of the options. However, when you click on, it gets selected BUT at the same time, you get the error message that says “Place not found! Try nearest city or click on advanced options”. Below is the screenshot of the error uploaded to your site.

🧐 thanks for reporting, looks like this issue is occurring on the first page and the timezone is also not changing when we change the country, we will fix this ASAP. what I recommend is just proceed with the defaults and change location at the inner page and then hit submit to recalculate everything.
Select Huston on the inner page and then hit +adv, hope you can figure it out. 🙂
when you enter coordinates manually IDK how the DST thing works, I’m attaching an old reply I’m not sure if it will be helpful or not, once go through it.
In case if the below-mentioned message doesn’t help let us know I will try to arrange a reply from Vinod.

Thanks for your response : I am glad you could reproduce the error and will be fixing it ASAP. It will make your software better. Regarding manually entering the lat/long data, it does look like that the user has to convert the minutes into decimal. For example, 18 degrees and 45 minutes should be entered as 18.75.
Regarding the workaround that you proposed, I was doing that while I was playing/testing/using the software :
Thanks again! I look forward to the bugfixes.
I have a feature request that will make your software even better and more user friendly. Let me explain what I have in mind.
When you generate the bhava-chalit horoscope, if the planet is in the rashi other than the rashi listed in the house, it would be very useful to add the rashi number that the planet is in the parenthesis next to the planet name. For example, let’s say tenth house has Libra and Mars, but Mars is actually in Scorpio, then it would be great if the tenth house has the rashi number 7 Libra listed as usual and “Mars 8 ” to reflect that Mars actually is in Scorpio and not Libra.
Hopefully, my description of the feature request is clear to you. If not, please ask for an example and I will provide one.
Thank you for reading the feature request. Hope you can implement it.
> “1641” “User_2980″ id=”44842” number=”4 @”User_2980″#p44842 should the minutes be entered as is or in decimal format?
Yes, you should enter in decimal format, it will convert automatically.

By default, we are showing KP New Ayanamsa with the Placidus house division system where you can easily figure planet’s original sign and its bhava.
Thanks for your response. Yes, I agree that there is sufficient data available to ascertain the planet’s original sign. However, by implementing my feature request your software will be even more user friendly and help in avoiding human errors. It will also give your software a leg up in keeping ahead of the competition and bring more users. If you need any assistance from me – in terms of designing the algorithm or coding it – I would be happy to do so. Please consider the feature request.
Thank you!
The idea is to automate as much as possible. Machines are good at computing. Humans are good at analyzing : Let the machines do the grunt work, so that we humans can focus on analysis rather than manually computing the original sign of the planet vis-a-vis analyzing the bhava-chalit horoscope.
Just my $0.02 :

That is true, we are currently busy with v2 and adding a ton of new features this is keeping us so busy these days. At this moment we are just not ready to accept any PRs we will disturb you after four or five months for sure.

OK. Thanks for your response. I understand that you have to prioritize your work. No problem.
While on the subject, if you need a beta tester for v2 or even during development , I will be happy to do the honors : Let me know.
