I don't know if what i think is right but I will try to explain….
Progressions show tendencies of person but Dasha decides the event, as the pitru karaka is originally afflicted by ketu(retrogression effect) and sun(combust effect). Also Rahu occupied sun star triggering the combination so ketu lo rahu lo bad event
